The Pelican State Pachyderm Club, established in 2002, is a conservative social organization for registered Republicans, and is dedicated to promoting, expanding, and strengthening Republican Party. The organization does not endors e candidates in races with multiple Republicans, so our club provides a place where all Republicans can meet on common ground, in an atmosphere that emphasizes the things that we have in common and that unite us as Republicans. The group, which a membership of approximately 300, meets on the third Tuesday evening of each month at a local restaurant in Jefferson Parish or New Orleans. The meetings generally feature two speakers with knowledge in the areas of politics, the media, current events, etc.
2007 promises to be an exciting one for the Pelican State Pachyderm Club. Our Board of Directors met recently to plan a course of action for the coming year. Here is the ambitious agenda adopted by the Board. 1) The Cochon de Lait held by the group every spring has become one of the most popular and best attended political events in the greater New Orleans area. It will be held on Tuesday, April 24, at the VFW Hall on Richland Ave. at 6:00 P.M. Cost to attend is $40 for an individual ticket; $250 for a sponsorship (table for 6 and recognition at event). . 2) A very special summertime charity drive--Christmas in July at Children's Hospital. We'll be collecting toys for boys and girls and then distribute them to the hospital's patients in July. 3) The annual food drive to be held right before Thanksgiving. |
